Sew- In Such fun!!!
The Annual Sew-In (known as CAMP in my world) was held last weekend .
I am in charge of the Sewing Sisters Boutique and also the ironing stations. I have 6 wooden ironing boards made just for our use. So it looks likes lots of stuff but.... it is not all mine per se.
We partied and sewed for 4 nights and 5 days. There were over 70 women - I know, you can hear the noise already can't you?
The ballroom of the Embassy Suites Hotel was loaded with our tables full of sewing machines, fabric, notions and tons more stuff.
Each year we have a charity raffle. This year we chose to donate to Sunshine Acres Children's Home. They take in children age five years to college who are homeless and provide care they would not get otherwise. A terrific organization. We raised over $800 to benefit the home.
We also have a Sewing Sisters Boutique which is donated goods from our ladies of fabric, notions and much more. Money is donated by each person who shops the table. Thanks to my table mates help this runs very smoothly.
Here are a few pics of the before opening of the Boutique and the after grab fest.

| Before the big reveal! |
There was a fun Happy Hour each evening and so many laughs our sides hurt! Each morning we had cooked to order breakfast and lunch and dinner served at our dining tables. Really rough LOL.
We all bring our own projects to work on but it is so nice to know we have lots of people we can call on for HELP!

I was the lucky recipient of a new glass with an embroidered flip flop coaster from Mary.
My best friend Beverly and family went to Germany and France recently and brought me back wonderful presents.
First is a beautiful pocket mirror from Germany....
Mirror, Mirror on the wall who is the fairest one of ALL.
Me!!! - well who did you think I was going to name?
Cindy, Bev's daughter, (like my daughter too) sent me a pair of scissors that look like a bird. They are from Paris and truly fantabulous! Sooooo Cool.
The last night the four of us table mates have a toast to our wonderful times and friendship.
This year's pic Here's to 2014!

Tragedy In Arizona
The Prescott Fire Department lost 19 -valiant, hardworking men in the Yarnell Hill Fire. My heart goes out to their families. Also. over 100 homes are gone in the town of Yarnell. So many people starting over. So sad. This too shall we rise from.

Go Dbacks!
Love the Dbacks! We were lucky enough to attend two of their games recently.
We watched the Miami Marlins and also the Cincinnati Reds. On the Reds afternoon game it was Star Wars day. Many people young and old came dressed the parts of Darth, Luke, Princess Leia and more.
Almost caught a home run.

Great trip - 1600 miles later
We went on a wonderful trip. Our first stop was Las Vegas you know (Lost wages) as I call it but I won so it was great. We visited our dear friends Jon and Jim. We all went to the Donny and Marie Show. Fabulous. Nothing like seeing people perform live! We took a drive down to the strip and checked out the Belagio Conservatory. They do a wonderful theme display for each holiday and season. It was Spring when we were there. LOVED the flowers
Then we drove up to Salt Lake City to more great friends. The CUSHINGS! Rod took us up to Heber Valley on Sunday had a beautiful drive and nice lunch. Deb took us downtown to see all the changes. Went to Temple Square and the new City Creek Malls. Great lunch at Kneaders. Wish we had one in Phoenix. Tuesday dinner at Texas Roadhouse.... so good! We played lots of games and cards. So enjoyed our time.
Monday brought so MUCH FUN!!! Family dinner with kids and grand kids.. We feel like they are all our kids. I had made items just for the ladies. Oh, except Alex who had a birthday and Sam who of course could always use a new Thomas the Train Quilt.
Tuesday Ed and I drove all three of the canyons in SLC up to the ski resorts and beautiful country.
We left on Wed early morning.
Drove to Zion Canyon - on the West side at Springdale. Stayed at our all time favorite hotel Desert Pearl Inn - Wonderful Place !!!!! We had a river room.... such bliss!!
We hiked up the trails and saw the sites and Ed took lots of pictures. Have yet to see them all. The only pic I have of Zion is this one taken from the gas station as we were leaving on our trip home.
We left after a great breakfast at the Spotted Dog in Springdale and then went through that over Mile Lonnnnnnnng tunnel to get to the East side and Highway 89. Being claustrophobic and a long tunnel - no light inside I am not sure I took a breath until we were out on the other side. But it was a beautiful time there.
We went to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Arrived about 10am and had coffee and a roll and I stayed out sitting on the patio while Ed went down rim trail and took more pics.
Long drive home but safe and good.
Wonderful to see our friends and great sites. Once home this what we had a beautiful cactus flower on the back patio.
