Priscilla's Pretty Necklaces

My friend Priscilla makes beautiful crocheted necklaces.    They are made with "ladder ribbon yarn."   The finished product looks just like a beaded necklace.  They are super lightweight so no neck aches from heavy beads.  They slip over your head, so no need to have someone help you with the clasp.

She learned how to make the necklace at  a workshop in January and has now made over 300.  I think she has one in every color imaginable.  Many have multicolor yarns and some with a little metallic sparkle.

Yesterday, Priscilla held a sale at the Beatitudes Gift Shop.  The Beatitudes is a retirement community here in Phoenix.  I was her assistant for the day.  We had a nice time visiting with all the ladies who came in.  She sold 24 necklaces!  Great job!

Fall Garden

Fall Garden is in and growing.  Planted small plants two weeks ago and it is already going to town. Cooler temps will help also.  I have 5 kinds of lettuce - leaf and head.  There is Purple, Green, Orange and White Cauliflower, Broccoli, Bok Choy and Chinese Cabbage.  In another garden I have Red Garlic, Snap Peas, and Snow Peas.

Lovin it!

Fall Is Here

Finally cooler temperatures are here to stay.  Twice a year I wash down everything - the house, windows etc.  This is where I  enjoy my time outback.

All the comforts.  Just add a glass of wine - good book or good ballgame and I am a happy gal.

HATCHED IN AFRICA DESIGNS

Some of my sewing friends and I recently took a class with Santi Nuss from South Africa.  She creates wonderful machine embroidery designs.   It was an all day event and nice to share with friends.   Here is the apron we made during class.   The chickens have a velvet look on their sides feathers which is hard to see in the picture.

Fun times!
